Fort Myers Beach, FL (February 22, 2016) – Filmmakers from all over the United States have begun submitting their shorts, documentaries, and full-length features for award consideration by judges at the Fort Myers Film Festival, celebrating its 10th year. “The Festival continues to delight audiences of all ages as we celebrate the art of independent filmmaking”, said executive director, Janeen Paulauskis. She added, “Submissions are will be accepted until March 26.

The Festival kicks off on Wednesday, April 20 at 2 p.m. with the opening ceremony at the Beach Theater, 6425 Estero Blvd., Fort Myers Beach, followed by full day screenings at the theater.

Films continue throughout the week with lunch and learn workshops on Friday, April 22 and Saturday, April 23, 11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Tickets for these workshops are $30 for Friday and $40 for Saturday and include lunch. These educational workshops give attendees the opportunity to learn from seasoned professionals in the industry about the nuts and bolts of filmmaking in a panel discussion format.

On Friday, April 22, join us for our fan favorite, Film on the Beach. This event is free and open to the community. Featured is Disney’s award-winning film, “Inside Out”

Sunday closes out the Fort Myers Beach Film Festival with the awards ceremony at 2 p.m. Immediately following the ceremony the winning films will be rescreened at the Beach Theater.
