Episode 9 in the Fish-Tale Radio Series is focused on the 4th Annual Grouper Grapple Fishing Tournament that was held at Fish-Tale Marina on August 12 and 13, 2016! The entire weekend was a huge success and the Marina would like to thank the tournament organizer, Brian Peachey along with the Freedom Alliance for bringing this incredible event to our backyard! In this excellent episode, Fish-Tale Radio Host, Captain Scott Hall interviews Marina Owner Al Durrett about our involvement in many charity events, “Pepper” Ailor of the Freedom Alliance joins us to talk about their organization, former U.S. Marine, Scott Kruchten shares an incredible story of survival and patriotism, and Musical Guests, Connor Myers and Mike Godwin talk about their journey from Nashville to Fort Myers Beach to entertain our participants and guests. We also go into the water with our “Gone Fishin’ ” Segment where Fish-Tale Captains, Alex Dolinski and Neil Eisner take the mic for some fishing reports and their part in the tourney. Gearing up for the Annual “Grouper Grapple”
Mark your calendars today for one of Southwest Florida’s Best Fishing Tournaments the “Grouper Grapple” is arriving at Fish-Tale on August 12 and 13!
GOOD TIMES. GREAT CAUSES… AND GROUPER!
The Grouper Grapple was founded by Brian Peachey in 2013 as a means to give back to the community and show support to Combat Wounded Veterans that have served our country. The tournament itself started with just 16 boats in 2013, and has grown to 22 entries in 2014 and 35 entries in 2015.
By teaming with Freedom Alliance The Grouper Grapple has been able to turn the event into an actual vehicle that provides much needed therapy for combat wounded veterans returning from service.
The Grouper Grapple and Freedom Alliance provide the veterans with transportation to and from the event, hotel accommodations, breakfast, lunch and dinner Thursday – Sunday, Back Bay fishing trips, commemorative plaques, entry into the tournament and tournament events tournament, specialized apparel and a chance to join their brothers in arms in an atmosphere designed just for them!
Fish Tale Marina on Fort Myers Beach offers anglers a prime location and provides dock slips free of charge to all registered teams. The marina is home to high end amenities, wet slips for boats up to 65 feet in length and a ships store that stocks all of the essentials for a day of fishing.
